My Story

After earning a degree in Business Administration and Political Science, I spent 8 years at Amazon as a Program Manager. I focused on training, marketing, events, and talent development — mostly serving military and national security communities. That work inspired me to earn a master’s degree in National Security so I could better understand and serve the people behind those missions.

Along the way, I earned the nickname "Sparkles" — a light-hearted callsign given to me by military colleagues (a story for another day!). The name stuck, and over time, it represented my approach to working with others: lighthearted, detail-oriented, thinking beyond mundane solutions, and always ready to help.

While the work was meaningful, I realized that climbing the corporate ladder didn’t align with my long-term life goals. I dreamed of building a home-based business – one that gave me flexibility for my future family. I had honed a “particular set of skills” at a top corporation, but I was passionate about using them to help small enterprises and mission-driven organizations. I believed I could do so much more, and I wanted more freedom and creative autonomy to do so.

In 2024, I stepped away from the corporate life and fully committed to growing my existing side business, Little Suitcase Gifts — a business I’m proud of and passionate about — while prayerfully exploring additional ways to use my skills and serve others.
In this self-employment journey, I kept running into small businesses and organizations that needed help with websites, branding, print materials, promotional swag, and other design support.

My customers ranged from churches, lawyers, and counselors to plumbers, counter-trafficking nonprofits, and law enforcement experts. Colleagues and clients who knew my work ethic and attention to detail started sending me referrals left and right. Suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, a new path to help others serendipitously opened up before me.

On July 4, 2025, I launched the Sparkles & Co. website to bring all of that under one roof — offering design, strategy, and branding support to real-world businesses and mission-driven organizations ready to grow.

I look forward to learning how I can help you, too!
